The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) is the largest federal employee union proudly representing 700,000 federal and D.C. government workers nationwide and overseas. Local 4012 is a chapter of AFGE and associated with the AFL-CIO. Local 4012 is the exclusive representative of Social Security field operations, hearings operations and quality review employees in Colorado, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming.
